On the basis of the introduction of Siemens and Westinghouse large air-cooling generator technology, Shanghai Electric developed air cooled turbine generator by combining with serialized and modular design concept.
Stator coils, stator cores and rotor coils of air cooled turbine generator are cooled by air. By using GVPI insulation technology, the integrity of air cooled turbine generator is good and the dispersiveness of quality of air cooled turbine generator is less. Turn - to - turn insulation structure which is made by using seamless stitching technology is applied to rotor, effectively preventing the short circuit of rotor. We can shorten the installation cycle and improve the installation quality through the use of the overall transport.
The capacity of air cooled turbine generator covers 60MW~350MW.

The performance and reliability of air cooled turbine generator of Shanghai Electric reach world-leading level by continuous optimization and improvement. Air cooled turbine generator had got a lot of national patent and it was selected into shanghai high and new technology achievement transformation project. In addition, it won Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award.
The air cooled turbine generator has been put in Beijing Zheng Changzhuang power plant, Jiangsu Yizheng power plant, Anhui Huaibei power plant and Henan Kaifeng power plant. In addition, it also exported to Belarus, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Africa and other countries. Now it has been put into operation up to 100 units.
